What kind of projects do you fund?
We have recently funded a film company to buy a better projector, a micro brewery to buy more equipment, a web designer to buy a laptop and software, and a frisbee coach to help gain more qualifications. ID8 has also supported a school group to develop a kitchen garden to grow produce to sell locally. We have helped groups of internet traders and animators develop their ideas.We will look at any applications which help you develop your skills in enterprise. It could be a business idea, or it could be a dream for a project you have always wanted to do. Please check the FundedProjects to all funded projects to date.
Who can apply?
You can apply by yourself or as part of a group. We welcome applications from young people between the ages of about 12 to 30, although if you are under 16 you will need support from a parent, teacher, youth worker or other adult to make your application. You must live, work, or be in education in the area covered by Tynedale Council to apply to Ideate.
What is the application process?
Text or e-mail us and an adviser will get in touch to help you take your idea forward. Though there are no application forms to fill in, you will need to find a way of telling us where, what for, why, when, and how you intend to use the money. In most cases you will have to talk to a panel of young entrepreneurs about your idea before you can be given funding.
Who is on the panel?
All the panel live and work in Tynedale. Each panel member has experience of running a business. They are Chris O’Brien from Kirkwhelpington, Sherod Walker of Birtley, Mark Mills from Chollerford and Gayle Hodgson of Haydon Bridge. If you would like to join the panel we are always looking for new people to help improve the service and support we can offer.How long does it take?There is no time limit on your application, but once we have contacted you, we will wait for you to get back in touch again. The ball stays in your court.Once we have all the details we need, you can expect a decision within a month.
How much can I apply for?
The average size of grant is £1,500. Grants are paid by cheque and must be paid into a bank account.
What kind of projects can’t you fund?
We can’t fund the following:Events or activities of a religious or political nature, Alcohol , Purchase of motor transport such as cars, scooters, quad bikes, tractors etc Buying goods to sell on Items that should be funded as a part of your school/college curriculum.
